Strategic grant consulting for organizations getting people outside
Why Choose Juniper
-
We get to know your programs, people, and values inside and out, so your strategy reflects who you are and grows with you over time.
-
Every opportunity we find lives in a multi-layered system that connects funders, deadlines, priorities, and contacts, so you can see the full picture instead of scrolling a flat spreadsheet.
-
3-month systematic foundation that screens hundreds of opportunities and delivers an actionable funding field guide with a submission calendar, project planning frameworks, and funder outreach support
-
Our team brings decades of combined experience across nature-based and environmental education, outdoor leadership, and community organizing, alongside strategic grant work, prospect research, facilitation, and established relationships across the funding community. Members of our small, dedicated team have led backpacking trips, built K–12 environmental curricula, managed nonprofit programs, and organized coalitions—we understand both the funding landscape and the day-to-day realities of running outdoor and environmental programs.
-
After Groundwork, you choose: run with your strategy on your own, have us keep your pipeline organized (Ecosystem Cultivator), or hand us the research and writing (Full Ecosystem Management).
Event-exclusive Offer
Confirm Groundwork by December 11, and we’ll write one standard letter of inquiry (LOI), up to three pages, with you at no extra cost. An LOI is the short, first-step proposal many funders request before inviting a full application. We’ll choose which one together, based on your strategy. Approvals take time, so we recommend booking your consultation by November 20 to leave room for any leadership or board sign-off.
We work with grant-ready entities getting more people outside. Nonprofits, government agencies, tribal organizations, and businesses are encouraged to sign up for a consultation.
Our Groundwork service is a 3-month strategic foundation process that includes:
Root Map: your organization’s foundation, programs, funding priorities, and positioning, documented before research begins
Seed Kit: outreach strategy, templates, and a professional prospectus
12-Month Funding Field Guide: prioritized opportunity profiles, analysis of past proposals, and a submission and cultivation calendar
Explore our full range of services here, from our strategic Groundwork support to ongoing Ecosystem management.
Important: Booking a consultation does not guarantee services. We confirm mutual alignment during our session. We onboard a limited number of Groundwork clients at the start of each quarter to ensure dedicated attention and optimal results, and we're currently booking January and February 2027 openings based on alignment and capacity. Only clients who secure confirmed onboarding slots receive this offer.
